A person at the placement office in D.C. emailed me asking for an update on what volunteer experience I’ve attained and what other things I’ve done since they first received my application. I wrote to them explaining a fundraising effort I participated in at school, that I’m volunteering in an area that is allowing me to gain educational experience about HIV/AIDS, and that I’m getting certified in First Aid/CPR the 12th. I hope that will be good enough for what I’m trying to do, but I’m sure if it isn’t they’ll just email me with other things I need to get done. I hope this means they are getting closer to committing me to a program. I’ll keep you updated.
I sorta had a question on my mind similar to this topic.
My nomination is for Youth, but if they have to change my invite I know Community is an option, but I’m trying to figure out if Health is.
I don’t have any health background other than a high school class and common knowledge, but I do get CPR/First Aid certified on July 26th. So basically, I’m trying to figure out if I can get invited for Health with just that certification, and before* I get the certification (on the stipulation that I receive the certification on that date).
I only started thinking about this because I’m nominated for August and should be hearing something this week…but am starting to get worried it’ll change, which is fine, but trying to think of things it could change too, and obviously the more options the better. Do you have any clue? if so you could e-mail me or comment on my website….
GL with everything!
